When did you realise you wanted to be on the radio?
I used to sit in my room playing with my... tape recorder... (well thats my story) when i was 10, but i actually realised i wanted to be on the radio professionally when i was about 17 when i got a pair of record decks.
I think I always naturally wanted to do it but didn't realise it.
One day I came to work with a bunch of tapes i had made on the computer after listening to Chris Moyles on Radio 1 Drive Time. It turned into making sketches, remixes and parody songs. I took the tapes into work and the listeners/workmates enjoyed what i was playing.
I eventually started doing radio shows on tape with my friends for a few years. When i'd had enough of being on Bedroom FM (I liked to call it freakshow FM) I thought i would try "the next step" hospital radio... Yeah Right, Like that was helpfull. They would'nt let me in! I called a place called Swindon FM who let me look around the studios and asked me to be their studio Assistant.
What stations Have you Worked For?
In 2003 i was a Broadcast Assistant at Swindon FM, In Swindon, Wiltshire. I Kept the station on air and learnt how to present a radio show and was their audio wizard making trailers, Promos and doing the whats on's untill December 2004 when i moved to Bradford, West Yorkshire.
Was Founder of Swindon Community Radio (now Swindon 105.5). I played one of the major parts for the months Trial Period in September 2005. I was a Technical Manager and Head of music from March 2008 until May 2009 and had a popular saturday evening show on the station. I was the first regular presenter on Swndon 105.5. After that i went to Spark Radio at Chippenham college to do a Thursday afternoon show while i'm at college doing a media production course, and now on Student Radio station Tone Radio while i study at the University of Gloucestershire.
What other work have you done?
I have done an NVQ level 1 in distributive operations at a Training centre in Swindon. Did NVQ Levels 1 and 2 in information Technology at another training centre, Got into Swindon FM, then while up north worked for (formally) the best Nightclub in Halifax.
I'm now working on a new radio project and my own production company radioshockmedia.
